Our Story

ChanYond was founded in Shenzhen with a single conviction: cross-border e-commerce sellers deserve better IP protection than they're getting.

Our founder holds a Master's in Intellectual Property Law from China University of Political Science and Law — one of the country's top law schools — and is a licensed attorney. He spent 15 years watching the same pattern repeat itself: sellers built thriving brands, only to lose them to trademark squatters, hijackers, or simple administrative mistakes that a competent IP firm would have caught.

The problem was structural. Traditional law firms understood the statutes but not how Amazon, TikTok Shop, or Shopify actually worked. E-commerce service providers understood the platforms but not the legal framework. There was no one bridging the two.

So we built that bridge. Today, we've protected over 2,000 brands — from solo entrepreneurs to publicly traded companies. More than 70% of our new clients come from referrals. We think that's the best measure of whether we're doing something right.

"I treat every case like it's my own brand on the line. Trademark registration is not data entry — it's legal strategy. It's knowing which arguments work, which risks are worth taking, and when to tell a client the hard truth instead of what they want to hear."

What's in a Name

People often ask what "Qianyuan" (乾远) means

乾 (Qián)

From the first hexagram of the I Ching — it represents the creative, the generative, the steadfast. For us, it stands for professionalism and accountability. It's about showing up and doing the work right.

远 (Yuǎn)

It means distance — the long arc. A trademark takes 8 to 12 months to register. A patent takes longer. A brand takes years to build. We're in it for the long game with our clients. No shortcuts, no quick flips.

We don't see intellectual property as a cost center — it's the most valuable long-term investment a brand can make. That's why we don't compete on price, we don't make promises we can't keep, and we don't do one-off transactions. We want every seller to build a solid foundation before things go wrong — because by the time they do, it's usually expensive.
